Position Title: Communications Coordinator
Status: Exempt

Position Summary:
By using a variety of communications, marketing and public relations tools, the Communications Coordinator will:

  • Implement strategies to effectively communicate the brand, vision, strategic goals and activities of CHAP among customers, employees, media and the general public through print, digital and social media
  • Manage communication campaigns and monitor the impact of advertising and public relations efforts
  • Collaborate with staff for production of marketing materials and communications collateral
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate content development and editorial calendar, write posts, edit posts and monitor content for CHAP’s new blog, The Standard
  • Annual report—coordinating all aspects of the newsletter/annual report from writing articles, selecting photos, coordinating content, gathering relevant education information and design
  • E-newsletter (eNews Weekly)—write, select photos, layout, coordinate content and send weekly updates
  • Press Releases—write press releases as needed, coordinating content and collaborating with appropriate staff, stakeholders, customers and board members for content
  • Coordinate Media Kit activities for customers and stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary editing gateway for all official communications and collateral
  • Website—coordinate both internal and external website content edits, maintain content management system, update with current news, events and blog posts
  • Social media—update content through social media venues, monitor CHAP’s presence across all platforms, moderate conversations and threads where appropriate and respond to public posts
  • Publicity materials—collaborate with the business development team to develop and produce new marketing collateral
  • Attend interdepartmental internal team meetings to identify communications opportunities and needs
  • Contribute to staff meetings, support the achievement of staff and organizational goals, and interact with various departments on communications and public relations strategies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to clearly communicate orally, in writing, through electronic tools and information design
  • Previous experience with nonprofit organizations, journalism or media management and brand execution
  • Knowledge of and experience with content management systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and related Adobe CreativeSuite applications
  • Solid computer skills including a high-level of proficiencies with standard office software packages, database management and a Content Management Systems
  • Strong editing skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing social media

Position Title: Senior Education Coordinator
Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Education

Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Senior Education Coordinator will help ensure the successful creation, implementation, marketing and operations of external and internal educational events including in-person and online workshops and courses in addition to other educational offerings and products. The senior coordinator will also be responsible for tracking and reporting course attendance and evaluations and following education and Continuing Education (CE).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate CE applications and materials and documentation of adherence education guidelines
  • Assist with the accurate management of records (hard copy and electronic files) for all education activities
  • Coordinate materials and information to be posted to the LMS for education courses
  • Compile and distill evaluation reports for each program managed and provide results to program planning committee
  • Drafts correspondence and helps update LMS as needed
  • Provides phone support for Education and interacts with customers regarding courses, programs and products
  • Provides support for, meetings and webinars; and working with the marketing department on promoting external events
  • Management of all logistical and planning details for internal and external meetings and workshops (10-100 participants), to include top notch communication with presenters, hotel contacts and participants; and onsite registration and set up
  • May assist with related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating including providing relief support to Office Associate at reception and participates in appropriate telephone triage system per CHAP policy and procedure

Position Title: Site Visitor Per Diem
Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Accreditation

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Accreditation, the Site Visitor plans, organizes, coordinates and conducts community-based health care organization accreditation Site Visits in a accordance with CHAP Standards of Excellence. Accreditation activities are executed in a accordance with CHAP Policies and Procedures governing the accreditation process. The CHAP Site Visitor ensures the protection of the confidentiality of all related Site Visit information except as otherwise required by law.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent CHAP in a professional manner
  • Accept assignments
  • Report availability to CHAP Scheduler in established time frame
  • Confirm travel arrangements in a timely manner
  • Prepare for assignments as appropriate
  • Review agency self-study to assist in planning visit
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Complete site visit requirements and documentation, within CHAP Standards of Excellence and federal/CMS guidelines, in an organized, accurate and timely manner
  • Site Visit documentation is accurate, correct and complete, with appropriate standard citation and detailed reference to relevant evidence for the purpose of accreditation, validation; monitoring of facilities; and complaint investigations
  • Provide technical assistance to providers regarding CHAP Standards of Excellence, CMS and other requirements
  • Submit required Site Visit documentation within required time frame
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of CHAP accreditation process, CHAP Standards of Excellence, state and/ or federal regulations
  • Provide clarification, verification and quantification of Site Visit findings
  • Participate in scheduled CHAP meetings in-services training and continuing education programs
  • Work independently and/or with a team of other surveyors
  • Performs other functions as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of specialty area applicable to assignment (i.e., home health, hospice, private duty nursing, home medical equipment, pharmacy, palliative, etc.); inspection, investigation and regulatory methods; medical terminology and coding; and the principles and operation of health care administration
  • Superior analytical, consultative, conflict resolution, mediation, written and verbal articulation skills
  • Effective critical thinking aptitude with the ability to apply and interpret CHAP Standards of Excellence and federal CMS regulations to inspections and/ or evaluation of assigned sites
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the accreditation team
  • Successful completion of the CHAP Site Visitor orientation program, which includes didactic classroom, competency testing and time management skills
  • Ability to travel independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Expert level proficiency with computer skills and office applications
  • Required availability of a minimum of 10 Site Visit days per month, exclusive of travel

Education, Training and Experience: 

  • Five (5) years experience in middle to upper management position in a health care field in at leas on program or service accredited by CHAP
  • Bachelor's degree in a related specialty area require; master's degree preferred
  • Active RN License, or applicable license, to practice in home state, where required by discipline
