Impact of Revised CoPs for Home Health Agencies
Last month the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule with new home health Conditions of Participation (CoPs). Since then, agencies across the nation have been working to figure out how to prepare for the revised rule. In addition, with the Trump administration freezing all new regulations, there is some uncertainty regarding the impact of that freeze on recently issued rules.
This week Home Health Care News released a piece highlighting what the changes will mean for many agencies. The article outlined that some of the biggest changes will surround requirements to the patients’ bill of rights, training requirements and Quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI).
On February 9, from 2-3 P.M. E.S.T, CHAP will host a Town Hall webinar to provide organizations an opportunity to participate in a live Q & A session with CHAP leadership, designed to outline how the new CoPs will impact the current CHAP Standards of Excellence and their upcoming revision.
