Update: Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017

Earlier this week Republican Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Jerry Moran (R-KS) announced that they would not support bringing to the floor of the Senate for a full vote the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017 (BCRA). This major setback to the Republican led plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has left leaders unsure of what will happen next.

There has been some discussion of repealing the ACA without replacing it, but several Republicans have announced that they would not support the decision to repeal without a plan in place to provide care for those currently covered by the ACA.

CHAP will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they are made available.
