CHAP approved for California licensure.

CHAP is now an approved accreditation organization to provide licensure surveys for initial home health providers in California.

Initial home health providers in California have the option to contract with CHAP, a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved accreditation organization (AO), to obtain an initial licensing survey and accreditation.

Due to the high volume of initial applications from home health providers; there is currently a delay of between 3 months to 2 years for HHA initial applicant surveys by the state agency in California, depending on the workload of the district office where the home health provider is located. Initial providers seeking to expedite their licensing approval process are encouraged to take advantage of this new option with CHAP.
